The charming town of
Eden is located on the border of
New South Wales and
Victoria. As always along the
South Coast, there is beautiful coastal scenery. But the star of Eden is
Old Tom, a killer whale well known by locals in the early twentieth century and was dedicated a museum, the
Eden Killer Whale Museum, which is also dedicated to marine environment. It is interesting and you can learn a lot about whaling which played an important role in the area's economy. Note that the complete skeleton of Old Tom is on display at the museum. This is the only one in the southern hemisphere and the second in the world, the other being located at the
Musée océanographique de Monaco.
iPhoneography Oz was a guest of Eden Killer Whale Museum.
